Local community and international organizations showed their support at the opening of Science Park Zakynthos. Norwegian artist Terje Isungset surprised the audience with an unusual performance.

  • Science Park Zakynthos is a Norwegian–Greek educational, research and business collaboration. The project’s aim is to work on sustainable environment issues, as for example the water resources. The research station is located at the Greek island Zakynthos.

Artist Terje Isungset managed to surprise the guest in his performance closing the ceremony. With his designed musical instruments he served the guests sounds of water and sea eagles.

The prominent guest could hear the music, but could not find the musician himself. After several minutes of turning heads, Terje Isungset suddenly appeared from the Therianos family’s fields.

– The guests could not stop talking about the performance, says the original initiator of Science Park Zakynthos, who has now placed the responsibility on the hands of the Greek University, the Norwegian University and The Therianos Family Farm.

– This is the second time I perform this piece. It was originally made for the opening of a project at the island Runde in Norway, explains Isungset.

The opening ceremony of Science Park Zakynthos took place at the farmyard at the Therianos Family Farm with the surroundings of fields and mountains. The concert with Terje Isungset was sponsored by the Norwegian company Jets.
